Man and Dome

1102 scanI was strolling through Lincoln Park in Chicago near the Primate House when I saw this man looking down through a glass dome at an exhibit. I no longer remember what was in the dome, but I do remember being intrigued by the juxtaposition of the man's figure and the curve of the glass dome. What was he doing? The photo was taken in October of 1981 with a Canonet QL19E 35 mm range finder camera equipped with a 45 mm f/1.9 Canon Lens SE on Kodak Tri-X Pan film. The negative was enlarged optically with a Beseler 23CIIXL enlarger and a 50 mm f/2.8 Rodenstock Rodagon lens on Agfa Multigrade Classic MCC111 Double Weight Fiber Base silver gelatin photo paper. Processing was done archivally using Kodak chemistry, with a final toning with Kodak Rapid Selenium Toner, treated with hypo clearing agent, and washed in an archival washer.
