Night Fence

2014 scanThe soft glow of the streetlights on a picket fence in North Wicker Park, Chicago, Ill. The shadows of the tree branches are very delicate. Reminds me of every night that I had to come home after dark. Peaceful, but within a short reach of the urban bustle. The photo was taken in December of 1981 with a Ricoh Singlex TLS 35 mm SLR equipped with a 55 mm f/1.7 Prinz Auto Rexatar lens on Kodak Tri-X Pan film. For the first print, the negative was enlarged optically with a Prinz 35 enlarger and a 50 mm f/3.5 Vivitar-LU lens on New Oriental Seagull Double Weight Fiber Base silver gelatin photo paper. Processing was done using Kodak chemistry.

All aspects of this print were handled in an authentic, pre-digital manner. Archival processing will ensure the maximum life span for this print.

This print (1/25) on 8” x 10” paper is available for purchase, mounted on 11” x 14” archival board. Please contact me if interested. Thank You.
