Glowing Door

2606 scanThe mid-winter sun reflecting off one closet door onto another, causing it to glow in a very soft, luminous manner. The peeling paint and old woodwork speak of long years of habitation and lifetimes. This picture was taken in my apartment in North Wicker Park, in Chicago, Ill. The photo was taken in January of 1982 with a Ricoh Singlex TLS 35 mm SLR equipped with a 55 mm f/1.7 Prinz Auto Rexatar lens on Kodak Tri-X Pan film. The negative was enlarged optically with a Prinz 35 enlarger and a 50 mm f/3.5 Vivitar-LU lens on Kodak Elite Fine Art Double Weight Fiber Base silver gelatin photo paper. Processing was done using Kodak chemistry.
