The winter lines are actually telephone lines. I was attracted to the
silhouette of this telephone pole in front of a very wan winter sun in an
alley in North Wicker Park, Chicago, Ill.
The isolation and meager sun make me feel cold and isolated. Good thing spring always comes!
The photo was taken in January of 1982 with a Ricoh
Singlex TLS 35 mm SLR equipped with a 55 mm f/1.7 Prinz Auto Rexatar lens
on Kodak Tri-X Pan film. The negative was enlarged optically with a
Beseler 23CIIXL enlarger and a 50 mm f/2.8 Rodenstock Rodagon lens on Kodak Elite Fine Art
Double Weight Fiber Base silver gelatin photo
paper. Processing was done using Kodak chemistry.
