Walking
along a path on a small hill at the Chicago Botanic Gardens in Glencoe,
Illinois, I noticed my shadow in the midday sun. It seemed to be a
separate
person, so of course I had to take his picture! It was just the
photographer, though.
The photo was taken in September of 1982 with a Ricoh Singlex TLS 35 mm SLR equipped
with a 55 mm f/1.7
Prinz Auto Rexatar lens
on Kodak Plus-X Pan film. The negative was enlarged optically with a
Beseler 23CIIXL enlarger and a 50 mm f/2.8 Rodenstock Rodagon lens on
Kodak Polycontrast Rapid Double Weight Fiber Base silver gelatin photo
paper. Processing was done using Kodak chemistry.
All aspects of this print were handled in an authentic, pre-digital manner. Archival processing will ensure the maximum life span for this print.
