An
interesting pattern in the stone walls of a canal lock at Roscoe Village living history site in
Coshocton, Ohio. Tooling marks in the upper right block can easily be seen.
The Ohio and Erie Canal was constructed in the 1820's,
and connected Lake Erie with the Ohio River. The photo was taken in June of 2007 with
a Nikon FTn Photomic 35 mm SLR equipped with a 50 mm f/1.4 Nikkor-S.C.
Auto lens on expired Kodak Plus-X Pan film. The negative was enlarged optically with a
Beseler 23CIIXL enlarger and a 50 mm f/2.8 Rodenstock Rodagon lens on Ilford Multigrade
Classic FB Double Weight Fiber Base silver gelatin photo
paper. Processing was done archivally using Kodak chemistry, with a
final toning with Kodak Rapid Selenium Toner, treated with hypo clearing
agent, and washed in an archival washer.
All aspects of this print were handled in an authentic, pre-digital manner. Archival processing will ensure the maximum life span for this print.
