When leaves and twigs lie down to rest
With sunlight on the trail they’re blessed.
On the path I look before I go;
I spy a mushroom all aglow -

A mushroom glistening in the light
That shines with three round spots of white.
There are leaves in a puddle of sunshine bright
Making shadows of lace on the trail in my sight.

Paths dark or sparkling along the way
Make the wooded ground alive today.
Mind your steps on the forest floor -
You’ll find the treasures from Nature’s store.
