A partly mackerel sky on a glorious day Lush farm fields and trees take my breath away. O’er the river beyond the third band of trees The sunrise at daybreak is a sight bound to please. |
One of three footbridges in this small town, From the side of the memorial, which is sacred ground. The trees on the left hide the cemetery’s blessed peace On the right, homes of families, and the river’s song sure to please. |

On the banks of the river, this view pleases me The cheese factory is trying to hide behind trees - Makes a white line across the water - do you see its glow? The puffy white clouds above make a beautiful show. |
The reeds on the river’s edge stand tall on the shore ‘Cross the water the ”Lion house” - can you hear them roar? At the bank’s edge the white stone’s line shines in the light Puffy clouds shade the city – will it rain? It just might! |

Where the hillside and trees are lining Shore Lane It seems like a drive through the country again - Though we’re still in the city, it is pleasant to know – Of dear rural scenes in small towns to warm your heart so. |
Near the bend of Rock River which reflects the day’s glow Along with clouds bright and puffy making a show – Over river and Main Street entering Mayville town Once more the old cheese factory; in Wisconsin so many are found. |

On the river bank, reeds and trees; a curved branch in the center reflecting Such a beautiful scene where romantic visions are worth perfecting. On the Southern bank we stand, in this quiet old spot Imagine large wicker baskets; a picnic place that time forgot. |
Tall reeds and cattails - where glorious trees do abound Walking Gold Star Trail - visions like this are easily found - I roam in the sunshine on this glorious day Scenery and nature surround and take my breath away. |

At the edge of the marsh - winding with such graceful ease Water meets scenery full of reeds and surrounded by trees. So many go boating round this graceful bend A fine place to view nature with family and friends. |
